Letter From the IMA President, Spencer Toomey

Dear @@first_name@@,

Now is the time to get involved. In this month’s Fast Take there is a call for people to consider running for the IMA Board. This is your chance to get more involved and guide IMA in the future. There was a time when being a board member was a lot of work but with today’s technology it has gotten a lot easier.

There is the perception that being on a board is a lot of work with no payback. I can tell you that the opposite is true. You will get much more out of than you will have to put in. Just the information shared amongst board members from every group that makes up the IMA membership will help you keep up with what is going on in the industry. You will find that no matter what part of the business you are in: travel, gift cards, merchandise, rep, press, performance improvement, recognition, consultant, etc. you all have a lot in common and you can learn from each other.

Besides the IMA Board, there are also the boards of the SIG’s, and various task forces which is another good way to get involved. Give it a try, you will find it very rewarding.

Save the Date – it is time to mark your calendars for the IMA Summit. This year’s Summit will be in Houston TX, July 18th to the 20th. The Summit Committee can always use some help – Now is the time to get involved.

Spencer Toomey
President, IMA

IMA Board Nominations

The IMA Board of Directors actively foster the common good of both our association and the industry as a whole. If this description speaks to you, please consider this a proposal to run for an IMA Board Director position.
