As you read this, the first quarter of 2015 is drawing to a close. Anecdotally, I continue to hear from members and customers that they have never been busier. More program quotes, more customer requests and a healthy outlook for spending on incentive programs. 2015 is beginning as a very hopeful year.
That optimism was very evident at the IMA Board Meeting in February. The SIGs are forging new relationships in order to provide a unified voice to the industry, as well as learn from each other. We continue to foster collaboration that will help the IMA be stronger together and the recognized leader in the incentive channel.
The Incentive Marketing Association is indeed a global organization. This month Brian Dunne, President of IMA Europe shares a few thoughts about IMA on the other side of the pond. Europe is where we in the US were many years ago. And by many estimates, Europe is a larger universe for the incentive industry.
The US incentive houses are investigating ways to enhance their global footprint. The Global Incentive Council, IMA Canada and IMA Europe will all be represented at the Summit in July and will provide education opportunities. Take advantage of their presence and knowledge to learn more about global opportunities by planning to attend the Nashville Summit.
When was the last time you took a peek at the IMA website? It is now updated with our new logo as we begin improving our outreach and web content. Look for many more improvements over the next few months.
I remember six years ago being introduced to IMA when attending the Motivation Show in Chicago. I returned on my flight dreaming that we could energise an IMA Europe and a vision that someday we could have a MoShow. Well our "man on the moon" is all on track, and Motivate Europe Live is scheduled for April 22-23 in London, and I know there are only a couple of exhibit stand spaces left with the good and the great of the industry exhibiting. Lord Sebastian Coe, who brought the Olympics to London, is speaking alongside a stunning lineup of other speakers, and will help position Motivate Europe as Europe’s “must attend” annual event.
I am also blessed with a wonderful board who have put in so very much to get us to very vibrant status with an outstanding community of members who attend our five events a year. We now have over forty members and had our last meeting in the historic GPO in Dublin Ireland. We were behind the scenes in this, one of the most famous buildings not only in my own home of Ireland but also in Europe.
This year we also have meetings in Bruges, Frankfurt, Dublin and London.
IMA Europe also collaborates with both the GIC and IMA Canada to help members and prospective customers with information and contacts on an international basis. The international incentive marketplace is growing quickly and we want to make sure we are utilizing the strengths of all of our international members to heighten awareness of incentives in the global marketplace. As such, IMA Europe welcomes contact from anyone in the IMA who is interested in International - Europe and please contact me personally as we would be delighted to help.
We look forward to seeing you at the Summit in Nashville!
As we continue to finalize plans for the 2015 IMA Executive Summit in Nashville, TN, we are growing more and more excited. Sponsorships for the event are now available online. They’re going fast, so SIGN UP NOW to have your organization affiliated with what promises to be the best annual event IMA has ever had. Registration for the Summit will be opening soon, so keep your eyes open for an announcement.
The IMA Nomination Committee has begun working on the nomination process for new IMA Board members. There will be several positions to fill, so start thinking about how you might want to take the next step as a leader through participation on the IMA Board of Directors. If you any questions, please contact Donna Chrobak, firstname.lastname@example.org.
IMA will once again be hosting an IMA Brand Pavilion at IMEX America this year. The show is October 13-15, 2015 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. If you are interested in participating in the IMA Pavilion, please contact Donna Chrobak, IMA Executive Director.
In her role as Executive Director, Karen Renk guided the Incentive Marketing Association, championed the business case for incentives, and mentored a wide group of individuals for the betterment of the industry and the association. She was known for a number of qualities included Mentoring, Character, Collaboration, and Professionalism.
The Karen Renk Fellowship will be awarded to the IMA member who best exemplifies these qualities in service to the association, either through their work within the organization or through outreach to the community at large.
Nominations Due: April 15, 2015
There has been a recent flurry of companies that have been soliciting IMA members under the guise of an implied endorsement by IMA. Members are receiving emails that reference their “IMA Membership” or otherwise mention IMA in the Subject line.
While the IMA membership directory is available to the public on the IMA website, and members can be found by using specific search criteria, it is the policy of IMA that we do not endorse the solicitation of our members by any person or organization. If you receive any such solicitation, please report it immediately to Donna Chrobak, IMA Executive Director, email@example.com
We are pleased that companies contributing to IMA's 2014Holiday Fund Drive for Wounded Warrior Project got some much deserved exposure in the March/April issues of Sales Marketing & Management magazine and Premium Incentive Products magazine. Thank you to IMA members, Mike Murrell (SMM) and Paul Hennessey, (PIP) for publishing a complimentary ad listing project donors:
