Letter From the President, Louise Anderson, CPIM

I hope everyone is enjoying Spring and finding that opportunities for growth in our industry are abundant.

The Incentive Marketing Association is changing and with that we want to make sure we work even harder to keep everyone informed and collaborating. The Board of Directors has voted and is proposing to our members to move our Annual Membership Meeting to the Summit where we have the largest gathering of our members. In years past, our annual meeting was at the Motivation Show and this last year it was at PPAI.

With the annual meeting taking place at the Summit it is also an appropriate time for us to elect our new Board members, which requires a change to the IMA Bylaws. The first order of business at the Annual Membership Meeting on July 29th at the Summit in Philadelphia will be to approve the recommended changes to the Bylaws. With the anticipated approval of the Bylaws change, members will then be asked to approve the new slate of Board members which will be announced by June 15th. Because of this change several board members including myself as President will have shortened terms. The new Board of Directors will take effect August 1st immediately following the Annual Summit. We believe it is important for good communications to have our election take place at a meeting where most of our members are in attendance.

Please watch your IMA e-mail communications closely as your IMA Nominating Committee and your Board will be submitting to our entire membership in June the ratified slate, including nominees, for the directors at large.

Please consider running on the IMA Board of Directors and take the time to reach out to others you feel could serve on the board as leaders in our industry.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Summit in Philadelphia July 27-29. Wishing you all a successful selling season and may you accelerate your growth as you Educate…Collaborate…Motivate.

Louise Anderson, CPIM

Call for Nominations

IMA has four positions for the Board of Directors that will begin August 1, 2014, pending approval of the recommended Bylaws Change. To be eligible to serve on the IMA Board of Directors, a candidate must be a voting member of the IMA in good standing. Directors are expected to attend three to four meetings per year, participate on a committee or Task Force, and attend the Annual Summit. If you are interested in serving on the IMA Board please complete the nomination form and email to or fax to 847-447-1150 no later than April 28th.

Thank You Volunteers

April 21 through the 26 is National Volunteer Week. In recognition of this event, the Incentive Marketing Association wants to recognize and thank all of our volunteers for the tremendous amount of time and effort they offer this association. The support that IMA receives enables us to deliver our mission to advocate for and promote the use of incentives and recognition to improve business performance.

Although it may be implied, we don’t say it enough. Thank you to all of our volunteers; you serve as advocates of the incentive and recognition market. Without you, the work we do simply wouldn’t be at the level we’re able to accomplish today.

If you serve on an IMA Committee, thank you! If you would like to serve the industry, please feel free to contact the IMA staff today.
